I am pregnant again & will be buying this baby book before our newbie gets here. There is not a lot of extra room for "journaling" but that hasn't bothered me, I spent most of my time chasing him around & didn't have much time to write. I bought this book while I was pregnant with my son. It has all of the basic info for you to fill in with the cute graphics from the "Guess how much I love you" story.
Also has a lot of places for you to put pictures and other things. I ahve this baby book for all of my boys. Make a good gift for a little girl or a boy. I would reccomend this to anyone. It is a soft cover and the pages hold up well. Tons of pages to fill out, it makes it fun to fill on all of the little things.
If you want something with more spaces to write detailed memories, you could write in the margins, write in your own journal, or just get a different baby book. This is my 2nd child and I wanted something that is sweet but also very simple to complete. There are spaces for all the major memories and a few more.
Just make sure you do the footprints soon - I waited until 6-1/2 months and they almost didn't fit. This is a simple baby book that covers the basics. It is not overwhelming which makes it more likely to get filled out.
One reason I rushed to get a book was so I could start recording the baby gifts we're receiving but this book was no help. Although this book is very cute and doesn't go overboard recording every move the baby makes, it leaves out important info. There's no place to record gifts/baby showers or visitors to the hospital or home after the baby is born.
